What are the main requirements for Spanish Highly Qualified Working Visa and Residence Permit?

Requirements for company and worker

The company and the worker must be within one of the following categories:

  • Management or highly qualified personnel when the company meets any of the following criteria: workforce of more than 250 workers in Spain, annual net turnover of more than 50 million euros, average annual gross invetment of 1 million euros, stock value of more than 3 million euros, among others.
  • Management o highly quelified personnel forming part of a business project that involves, provided that the condition alleged on the basis of this assuption is considered and acredited as being of general interest.
  • Graduates, postgraduates from universities and business schools of recognized prestige.
Company accreditation

Acreditation of the characteristics of the company and report from the General Directorate of Trade Investiments.

Employment contract

Employment contract or accreditation of the professional relationship, as well as a job description

Minimum Salary

This varies if it is a position of director an manager or of technician and scientific and intellectual professionals..

What is the procedure to acquire the Spanish Highly Qualified Working Visa and Residence Permit?

1 Visa application

The first step is to apply for a visa at the Consulate in the country of residence or the Large companies Unit (UGE-CE). 

2 Administration response

Depending on the application is made, the administration will have between 10 and 20 days to resolve the issue

3 TIE
